This post is a part 2. Part 1 dealt with ways to help moms of young children deal with the ‘dailyness’ of Motherhood! You can read it here.
Today, I wanted to encourage those same moms to find ways to pamper themselves.
I needed to ‘borrow’ from the food budget envelope to enjoy some of these indulgences, but I came up with some ideas that worked. Like……my family never missed the 1/2 pound of meat in their tacos, instead of 1 pound. That way I stretched the meat to 2 meals. Or, adding LOTS of ice cubes and using straws in glasses of water, seemed more fun than a silly, artificially colored juice, so it wasn’t missed, at least occasionally.
I used the borrowed money to treat myself to…..
-Dunkin Donuts ground coffee. Drinking my 2 cups of coffee a day were my ‘Ahhhh moments’
-Getting my hair cut and/or highlighted at a relatively expensive salon because I loved the stylist !
-A subscription to my favorite magazine
-Yard sale hunting several times a month throughout the summer
My treats might not do a thing for you, but I think that it’s important that we each enjoy some indulgences!
What are some of yours?
I’d also like to introduce a new blog called Faith on Fulton. The blog, was recently started by a friend named Krystal. She has a great sense of humor and is a gifted writer! You can find her blog here!
