What happens when a Jewish girl from Philadelphia falls in love with and marries a Christian hog farmer from a small rural town 85 miles from her home? Well, in my case, I became a Christian, but struggled to be the loving and wife and joyful mother to my 4 young sons.
In fact, things got so hard, and I felt so overworked, overwhelmed and incompetent, that I ran away from home.
That day ended up to be life changing. A wake up call of monstrous proportions! It became the theme of my first book, Recapturing the Joy of Motherhood. Since then I have written a devotional book for families, and most recently There’s An Easier Way: 21 Ways to Lovingly Raise Your Children Without Regrets.
My purpose for this blog originally began with my desire to share one tip a day that I learned as a young mom and that would help other moms learn how to handle life with patience, grace and joy!
One of the joys of my life has been the privilege of speaking to young mom’s through groups such as MOPS over the past 20 years. Another joy has been homeschooling my eight children. Many of my posts are related to the experiences we’ve shared just living life together, day by day.
My goal for the future of the blog is for it to become a melting pot for many older moms to share their tips on child-rearing, marriage, and walking the narrow road that we call life. We can all be Moms by Example.
